Howard Cecil Walker
Howard died peacefully at his Queens Village residence in London. He was born in Westminster Township to Cecil Percy Walker and Nettie Jane Walker (Lawson). He was married for 70 years to Rosemary Muriel Walker (Stokes); father to Nancy Jane (Walker) and Gunter Willie Muller (deceased 2014) of London, and Douglas Howard and Debbie Walker of Florida; grandfather to Eric Muller and Paul Muller (Rebecca Coulthard) of London; Tyler Walker of London; Mitchell Walker of Florida; great-grandfather to London Walker of Florida and a fondly remembered uncle and friend to many. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law Hubert (Norma), Carl (Hazel) and Clarence and survived by sister-in-law Ethel Walker.
Howard was a WWII Canadian army veteran and served with distinction in England, Italy, North Africa, France and The Netherlands then returned to wed Rosemary in London 1948. Howard retired from the City of London in 1984 to create many happy family memories at the family cottage on Lake Huron. He was a dearly loved and cherished father and grandfather who led by example to teach respect and honour. Howard was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Victory Branch No. 317 London for many years.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private burial at a later date. A gathering to celebrate Howard’s life will be held in the Duffield Lounge at Queens Village, 518 Queens Avenue on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 1-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Queens Village would be appreciated by the family.
