Ronald Douglas "Ron" Blain

Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 Ron lost his courageous battle with cancer at the age of 68 years.  Ron is survived by his wife Kathy.  Loving father to Judy (Dave) Poustie of Byron and Stephanie (Robert) Pygas of Gatineau, Quebec.  Proud grandpa to Kyle & John Poustie and Joseph & Andrew Pygas.  Beloved son of Audrey Blain of London & the late Albert Blain.  Ron also leaves behind his best friend Ed Arnold of London and Wendy Blain of Byron.

Ron retired from Labatt Brewery in 2008 after 34 years of service having served 8 years as Union President.  Ron was a member of White Oaks United Church, A.N.A.F. #393 and a 34 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion – Delaware Branch #598.  Ron & Kathy enjoyed their winters in Florida.  Ron was an avid hunter & fisherman and enjoyed playing golf with the guys.

At Ron’s request cremation has taken place.  Friends will be received by the family at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo St. & Colborne St.), on Wednesday from 3-5pm & 7-9pm.  A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held in the Logan Chapel on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. The family wishes to thank the wonderful care and compassion received by the Drs. & Nurses at the London Health Sciences Cancer Centre,  the St. Elizabeth Palliative Care Team, family physician Dr. L. Hoben and all the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice.
